“Tonight” CD marks first release for new indie label

Oklahoma City (Jazz Drops Records) – It was officially announced that independent, aritst-owned Label, Jazz Drops Records will release Oklahoma City guitarist, Maurice Johnson’s debut album, “Tonight” which is scheduled to hit initial digital distribution points within weeks.

Johnson’s “Tonight” album features a total of twelve tracks distinctly diverse in concept and approach, exemplary of the label’s primary objective to produce music of lasting and universal appeal.

As preparation for final mastering and pressing began, it became apparent the ultimate outcome would yield a fifty-five minute melodic journey within a stirring and compelling body of work.

Featured song titles as they appear on the album are as follows: For You, For Me; La Casa Del Moreno; On The Radio; And Out Of the Blue; Tonight; It Must’ve been A Dream; Take Me To Bricktown; I’ll Be Loving You Tonight; One For You, Two For Me; Not Lately; Black Coffee Please; Story Of The Gun.

“Tonight” offers something for just about every kind of listener. “The integrity of creative freedom has always been a key stickler for me”, Johnson says before arriving at a conclusive agreement with a label”.

It’s a primitive but effective notion in light of today’s disposable music market as one song becomes a hit one day and within a few short weeks it’s fanfare becomes potently diluted in the wake if a new, instant chart-buster release. It’s a fact that both the music industry and consumers have and continue to contend with.

The music industry is in a constant state of flux, yet to be defined as the metaphoric glass ceiling is replaced with a digital one.
