Hello and welcome!
It's June 9, 2008 and here I am on JazzPlayer.com! This looks to be a great community that I'm sure will build and build since it's connected to JazzEd Magazine and those folks. My experiences with them have always been wonderful.
As I write this, I've just returned from Phoenix where I had the opportunity to be the featured guest composer/conductor for the Young Sounds of Arizona big band. They commissioned me to write a new work for them and we premiered "Prayer" last Friday at the Orpheum Theater. Barb Catlin, a great pianist and teacher, had the band smokin' when I arrived which was very cool. After a brief rehearsal on Thursday, we had a great night together on Friday. I am really grateful for the chance to have worked for them and if you ever get the chance to work with Barb and this great group of young people, JUMP ON IT!
The AC CD is less than a month away from being recorded. It is going to be a great experience for me. My friend Wayne Bergeron is putting together a band full of great L.A. players to bring my compositions and arrangements to life. I BETTER PRACTICE!
