About Me:
Wine & Chocolate was conceived, developed and produced by Alex Salzman, a Grammy-nominated producer, composer and musician. It's a unique combination of jazz, bossa, pop and funk, embellished by world flavors and rhythms.
Musical Background & Experience:
Alex started his music education at the age of seven, when his mother, a world-class classical pianist, had enrolled him into the Moscow Conservatory School for Gifted Children. The rigorous program included intensive studies in classical piano, ear-training, theory, choir and counterpoint. At the age of eleven, Alex also began studying classical guitar.

After attending The Westchester Conservatory of Music and The Fordham University School of Business, he began his professional career as a performer and composer, subsequently becoming a Geffen Records recording artist and a Warner Chappell-published songwriter.

With rapid advances in music and computers, Alex quickly embraced the technology and expanded his skills to production and engineering, having recorded a variety of independent New York artists. He also began his long-standing relationship with Alan Menken, a multiple award-winning motion picture and Broadway composer, with whom Alex has worked closely on numerous recording sessions for animated features like “Beauty and The Beast”, “The Little Mermaid” and “Aladdin.”

Alex was fortunate enough to be chosen to compose and produce music for an experimental children’s educational computer game “Kid Riffs”, developed by the famed IBM Watson Research Center. The game received worldwide acclaim, including The Parents’ Choice Award,
The Consumer Electronics Show Innovation Awards, and was featured in Disney’s EPCOT Innovations Pavilion.

In 2007 Alex received a Grammy® Nomination for Best Native American Music Album for his production work on “Jana/American Indian Story”, as well as the 2006 and 2007 Native American Music Awards for Best Producer and Album of the Year.

Most recently, Alex has contributed his production skills to the long-awaited upcoming release of superstar Ace Frehley’s new CD, "Anomaly".

Alex continues to perform regularly, appearing at prestigious events throughout the US including the Presidential Inauguration, The NASCAR Championship Celebrations, The Kentucky Derby and The NFL Hall Of Fame Induction.
