About Me:
I am a high school junior going to Brownsburg High School. I absolutely love jazz music and orchestral music. Right now our jazz band is working on some different pieces of music such as High Maintenance by Gordon Goodwin, a song entitled Duke it Out, and God Bless the Child. All three are pretty nice pieces and I hope to maybe get some recordings here soon.

I absolutely love jazz music. In about 7th grade, me and a group of kids my age formed a group called the Jazz Katz. Right now we play pretty much all genres of jazz whether its Be-Bop, or Hard Bop, Straight Ahead Jazz, or Big Band Swing. One of our best songs we have though is called Channel One Suite. I play first on this song, and I absolutely love playing this high!

As a final note (no pun intended) I also play the french horn in my school's Wind Ensemble
Musical Background & Experience:
I've had quite a bit of experience on trumpet and french horn. I've played the trumpet for 6 years now, and the french horn for about 4. I've had quite a few gigs with my band the Jazz Katz, and have also played with a local band named Midtown Wave. I'm doing as much as I possibly can to engulf myself in this music and this world we know as Jazz...

Why I love jazz:
Jazz is my everything...its the very thing that keeps the spirit alive.

Watch A LOT of jazz recordings, and many famous different performances on youtube.

wow, I'm so sorry it's been so long!! though I have never been to an apple orchard, i have had apple cider, which is very good. ^.^ How is your school year going? almost halfway over! how's band going?

well, that's still really great that you made it through regionals. and yeah, i bet you'll make it next year. =] how long is your fall break? i had mine a couple of weeks ago; it was only a week long. i don't think i've ever been to an apple orchard. do you pick apples at an apple orchard, or do you just look around?

hey, that's great. it sounds like everything is going great! your band sounds awesome--a lot better than mine.lol. we had practice this sunday, and i was just happy that we could (sort of) play the music and (sort of) run through the right formations. our show's the 31st, and we're barely going to be ready. but i've been practicing conducting a lot because i'm the drum major, and my arms are so sore!
how's the rest of school going?

hey
wow, so sorry i haven't written you back in so long! i've been super busy planning our show. and then mastering the sax for jazz band, too. we've got some really fun music in jazz this year.
how've you been? how's band coming?

I like Chris Botti too.....don't care that he plays "smooth jazz" he is well founded (Indiana U/William Adam) and he plays great......more power to him.

yay, that'll be awesome. i can't wait to see it!!! our hc show is on halloween this year, and my school admin. wanted a halloween themed show, and then some of the players wanted costumes, so I made it a Phantom of the Opera theme. it's gonna be awesome. our uniforms are long black shirts, black pants, and black shoes. we're also going to wear a phantom mask--white, covering half of the face.
what are some of your formations shaped as?

i'm ok. getting ready for school to start on tuesday. I just got back from visiting my brother in dc yesterday; it was awesome.

how're you?

well, they still consistently do it though, right? my players don't have any incentive at all...it's really pathetic. no one cares about anything other than hooking up and surfing. lol.
and yeah, i guess you're right. I've definitely seen worse hs marching bands. i just wish we could get better...i have high hopes =]
have you found out what your formations will be for your show?
