Kevin Spears is a gifted and highly innovative musical artist on the exotic African instrument called Kalimba. Playing in seclusion since the tender age of 11, Spears’ unusual gift of music and live presentation cause you to hear distant echoes of Africa, Duke Ellington, Jazz and the Blues, as well as beautiful experimental musical textures all on the electric Kalimba.

It is truly rare to find a musical artist who not only designs and builds his own instruments but one who has quietly yet profoundly raised the standard regarding what is possible on this instrument. In addition to his own mesmerizing shows, Spears has performed, recorded, and/or opened for artists including: Bill Summers (Herbie Hancock), Arrested Development, Eric Benet, Col.
