Ken, great to hear from you! I've been wondering where you were and what you're up to. Thanks for contacting me! Yes, we've been mourning Gary's passing and Ola's as well, 6 days later. Ray Eubanks then had a nasty wreck on the way to Ola's funeral, broke his back in several places, and has been recouping from that. Man, what a week that was. We just finished our concert week with Carmen Bradford, who was at the top of her game. Wow, it swung. I miss you too, and your great playing as well. I don't get around much anymore to do casual dates since I made the JAG/CJO. Was playing with New Remnants (with Harner on lead trumpet), but they haven't called me since I had to turn down a gig due to CJO conflict. Left DJO, it's not going anywhere. I'm having a great time with a great band, and working with great artists now. Fun!
Went to Europe with DIVA for a whirlwind weekend tour of Germany and Croatia jazz festivals in '07 and had a blast. Also played with them in '02 in NYC at Lincoln Center in the Verizon Jazz Fest. Got to hang backstage with some cats form the LCJazzOrch. How fun!.
I'm so much happier now, and am going to enjoy the ride as long as it lasts. Hope that's a long time.
Keep in touch, Ken, been too long!
Peace -- Linda
