About Me:

I am a singer, lyricist and vocal arranger, as well as a vocal instructor. I've led groups for years and am finally focusing on releasing more products (CDs, sheet music, arrangements, etc.) and wish to do more workshops. I am also a published journalist now and then on the arts, and am a Roads Scholar in the Speakers Bureau at the Arizona Humanities Council.

Musical Background & Experience:

I have been performing since a child in church and school, In college I led my own groups, obtained a B.A. in music and M.A. & Ph.D (Ethnomusicology). Although I have performed many different styles of music, my main voice is in jazz. I have taught from grade school to university level and in community programs. I current run a private voice studio.

Why I love jazz:

It demands advanced technique, honesty in your expression and it in incredibly inclusive of all other musics.

Music:

It is mysterious why music is so fundamental to my being. Sometimes I am so moved by music, it almost hurts.
