About Me:
HP play's E-bass (fretted & fretless, and 4 & 5 string), and acoustic bass (Kontrabass) and electric upright (NS Design) with jazz and blues groups around the Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland. I am currently the bassist with the Swingtime Big Band from the Hague, the Netherlands and the Jazz Heeren Combo+, Tony's Wife Orchestra (traditional jazz), and Jive 8 in the province of North Brabant.

Education
I have studied bass many years with Bruce Gertz and Whit Browne of Berklee College of Music and Thomas Martin of the BSO. Currently I am studying improvisation with Guenter Valkenaar of the Jazz Studio in Antwerpen Belgium.

I am an alumni of Berklee College of Music, and return there for continuing education and also in summer program of the Conservatory of Amsterdam and Manhattan School of Jazz.

I played around Boston, MA for many years with Stan McDonald's Blue Horizon Jazz Band (traditional), Henry "Thins" Francis's Swing Legacy, Jimmie Mazzie, and I was the house bassist for Jazz at Noon (Jasons on Claredon St.) and performed with numerous other small and large groups including the Boston Conservatory Big Band and the Wellesley Symphony.

Zurich, Switzerland
I was the regular bassist for numerous small and large bands including at the Casa Bar for several visiting jazz artists from the UK such as Don Long, the Swan Big Band, Diggin the Blues, and the Dixie Jumpers.
