Musical Background & Experience:
I discovered karaoke in my 30's and got hooked on singing.I wanted to try singing with live musicians and maybe earn some money from it but I thought that I was maybe a bit long on the tooth to be starting out. Then I went to a concert in my local theatre and was blown away by a jazz singer who said that she had just been singing for a short while and had started in her 40's so I thought it might not be too late for me after all.
I started going for vocal coaching and singing in local jazz clubs early in 2006 and just loved the connection with audiences.
In October 2006 my ambitions of singing semi pro were halted when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was an earth shattering blow but I was determined to fight it and after 7 months of treatment, including mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy I got the all clear and was even more determined to dedicate the biggest part of my life to doing something I love and at the same time make some money for the charity.

I am booked to sing at Fife Jazz Festival and Keswick Jazz Festival in 2009 and hopefully I will hear soon from a few more then spread my wings a wee bit further if I can find an agent or promoter who will book me on a tour

Hey Grace...thanks for the invitation! I have never been to Scotland but would love to go there someday...it looks like such a beautiful country. Would love to hear you sing in person, too!
