Lou,
I"ll look it up. We will send you something as soon as we get the manufactured CD's from the factory. Unofficial release date is July 17th. The CD is Dallas' Original Jazz Orchestra featuring Drenda Bartnett. It's called "Where There's Smoke". Let's stay in touch.

Another bit of news Dale Cook and Segred got attcked by a bear while coming back from a trip. The bear knocked both off the Harley. He has broken ribs and I think she had a black eye.

Hey Lou,

Richard Powell here. Hope you remember me. You and I worked a bit with a British singer by the name of Gary Marshal years ago (MANY years ago) as well as at Six Flags. Just wanted to say Hi and glad you're doing well.

Hi Lou,

We've already met, but yeah, it would be nice to see you again sometime. I was a student at SJCC when Shelly was directing the big band there. I was the "jazz chair" when the band did your demo tape. This was during Shelly's last year in Houston.

I was at San Jack after I had already been through six years of college at UTEP and UH. I was already a professional player when I was there and my main purpose for being a student there was to study privately with Dick Schaffer.

Yeah, Sam Trimble was there my five years that I was there. He was my trumpet teacher and the director of the lab bands. I tell people he was my most influencial teacher because I spent so much tme with him.....six years with him as a teacher, two seasons playing under him in the symphony and a whole bunch of gigs and recording sessions that we did together. So I probably was in the band at UTEP when you were there.

Trimble has been at UTEP all along since then. There was a rumor that he was retiring this year, but I didn't hear that from him, so I really don't know.

Sparky and Nelson;

I appreciate your comments. I think each of you will be pleasantly surprised in about a month or so. We anticipate launching details about a very good relationship with some key individuals in the name of jazz education.
